Ray's Blog

I'm a student in London, studying Media & Photography.. And I dream big! And if I want something I would do anything to make it happen ..

I’m passionate about my future, and what path I want to follow.. Right now I’m on a journey to explore how people can be creative, how big creativity can be, and the uses of creativity in education.

In this blog, I will take a journey through the world that can be creative, within the articles, Vlogs and Podcasts I’ll post. Enjoy reading my ideas and opinions on creativity and feel free to email me at: creativelikeu@live.co.uk.

Thanks for checking out the blog,

Storm Leaf Productions (An Insight) …

As some people may know, I have recently launched a student-based production company! The company began in June 2010 and created an environment where student can put their skills together and create something that has never been done before. Talent was the key point I wanted to bring out at Thomas Tallis School; it was there, but not everybody wanted to show it off!

So I created this company not only to produce films but at the same time to release and showcase the talents of young people at Tallis. With aspirations of the company becoming big in the future, the team and I really want to help and pursue not only our goals but the goals of our peers…

As well as creating shorts with these students, we also want to develop our portfolio! The portfolio will contain all our produced pieces of work to promote us in the future ..

Have a look at Storm Leaf’s Launch Night film!

After coming back from a massive collaboration in Oklahoma, more and more ideas have been ‘popping-up’ in my head! It seems to have come to my attention that I don’t wish to end the relationship we have made with schools in Oklahoma and schools  in London.
So… To continue this collaboration I have come up with a big idea that will be captured on video! A school in Oklahoma (Howe High School) and a school in London (Thomas Tallis School) will connect with each-other using online resources such as facebook, twitter, skype etc.. I can’t tell what exactly this project is about.. But I can tell you that we’re all in for a treat!
I will be coordinating this project along with my colleagues (Creative A.R.G) and it shall be a very experimental film!
Can’t wait to update you soon,
Raihan (Ray)

A little info’ about me!!

hmmm.. well where do i begin??

Hi, I’m Raihan Muhammad.. I’ve recently started a new tumblr blog, clearly because i didnt like the old one i did.. lol.. Umm, i’m a film-maker still in education studying a Btec in Media, a diploma in Fine Art and a course in IT.

I began my interest in film at the age of 12 which was the time of when i started secondary school. This interest progressed as i started joining visually creative after school clubs. From there opportunities began to rise for my future and it led on to things like being a camera person for the school broadcasting TV show in which i had filmed an interview with the PM at the time, Gordon Brown and Ed Balls. This then blossomed new branches in my world of media production and got into TV Broadcasting. This gave me opportunities to become a presenter for the show briefly and interview Director of the TATE’s Sir Nicholas Serota!

Opportunities continued to pop up and I became apart of a young film makers team under Eelyn Lee Productions, which was in an association with A New Direction. We had recently made a promotional film for this company, be sure to check it out:

It’s the film on the homepage…

This summer I’m hoping to release my own film company. The company will be completely student based in which we work together to make films, advertise, photograph events, and specialize in promotion. We should hopefully be getting ourselves a .co.uk website to promote us this summer when we launch!

Other than that, right now it’s just focusing on the last part of my studies.. nearly done, two exams left! And then I’ll be off to college studying my level 3 diploma in media and a 2 year course in photography!

Welcome to my blog! I thought long and hard about my first post on tumblr, so i thought i would post one of my recent clients photo-shoot i had taken recently. Hope you like it! :)
